BHM Barn owl

Last evening on Black Hole Marsh there was this beauty.

Then the sun went but I still managed to get these images.  After the final photo it came too close to photograph.  A wonderful evening.

A Musbury resident and drama at Black Hole Marsh

A recent photo of a Musbury resident.  How I'd love this on my bean sticks!

Some photos from today at Black Hole Marsh

Then a nice tranquil scene

suddenly became this

Mum and Dad to the rescue

Am not sure if she was trying to steal or drown the duckling.  As she had some of her own perhaps she thought it was one of hers.  Thankfully it seemed non the worse for its ordeal.

Then one of the oyster catchers decided to try and oust the moorhen from her nest

but her mate came to her rescue

and after a couple of feeble attempts aggressively surprised the oyster catcher from underneath and chased it off.

Another grey plover

Another stunning grey plover though this time on Black Hole Marsh rather than the river.  Eventually it was chased off to the river by a crow.

The last 2 days at Black Hole Marsh.

Young shellducks from a group of 5 taken 2 days ago.

These keep growing fast!

Then there were lots of these.

And then this morning apart from more of the same these were the only differences.
